IVS-R&D-08 / RD0508 2005 August 17-18 229/18:00 - 230/18:00 Haystack correlator expt #3110 Fourfit quality code summary: 91% 7-9 4% 1-6,A-H 1% 0 (non-detection) 4% no data Algonquin (G/Ap): Warm receiver. Fringed X-band with manual phases because otherwise most X-band scans would be H codes due to weak phase cal relative to high Tsys. Power spectra in several channels are distorted, with excess power at the low or high frequency end. Missed two scans due to antenna problem. Gilcreek (A/Gc): Warm receiver. Channels S2 and X3 deleted in fringing due to consistently bad CRC on tracks 32 and 64. Missed two scans due to timing error in pointing system. Power spectrum in channel X8U had a near null at 10-11 MHz except during three scans from 229-2239 to -2245, when the spectrum was flat. The effect on the multiband delay of the change in spectrum should be only ~8 ps. Kokee (K/Kk): Fringed with manual phases. Power spectra in several channels are distorted, with excess power at the low or high frequency end. Scheduled to start late at 229-1947 due to Intensive. Ny Alesund (N/Ny): OK. Onsala (T/On): Missed three scans due to antenna encoder problems. Missed ten scans due to problems with module #2. RFI in channel S1 in a few scans, but not severe enough to cause G codes. Westford (E/Wf): ~2% of S-band scans are G codes due to RFI in channel S4. Between 229-2100 and -2300, phase cal delay at S and X jumped several times by 200-400 ps. Problem must be in either the ground unit or the antenna unit. Low X-band phase cal amplitudes in several scans due to unstable or slowly drifting phase. Wettzell (V/Wz): Scheduled to start late at 229-1947 due to Intensive. Missed 18 scans due to communications problem with the Mark 5A unit. Poor playback in two scans caused assorted B, D, and E fourfit error codes. -20 dBc spurious signal in channel X2. All stations recorded on Mark 5A. $ Clocks: Haystack Station fmout-gps Used rate Comments [usec] [usec] [sec/sec] Ap 3.16 3.620 0.12e-12 Gc -8.46 -8.210 0.00e-12 Kk -0.52 -0.200 0.00e-12 Ny -13.71 -13.540 0.32e-12 On 39.42 39.455 1.08e-12 Wf 8.69 8.640 0.51e-12 Wz -15.40 -15.200 0.00e-12 Date: 05/08/17 Processing factor = 1.5* Processed in three+ passes due to late arrival of Ny Alesund and Onsala disk modules, and limited number of Mark 5 units available on the Haystack correlator.
