C1001 #2845 tar-save will be created 2000 Jul 10-11 Processing factor = ?? DOY 192-193 93% have fourfit Quality Codes of 5-9. Algonquin: OK. Gilcreek: Missed the first 10 scans due to antenna drive problems. HartRAO: OK. Hobart: Warm receiver for entire experiment, so fringe amplitudes were lower than normal. Matera: Fringes in X-band channel 5 were ~30% lower than normal. The cause was later traced to a video converter with no image rejection. Strong RFI in one or more S-band channels in ~15% of scans. Tsukuba: OK. QC=5-9 AI 83% A - Gilcreek AT 98% G - Algonquin GA 97% H - Hobart HT 92% I - Matera JT 97% J - HartRAO T - Tsukuba ****************************************************************************** C1001 (2000 July 10-11) ======================= Correlator notes: Matera: Fringe amplitude in channel X5 is ~30% low. Cause was identified in August as a failure of the image rejection mixer in VC05. Hobart: Receiver was warm for the entire experiment, as indicated by the 70K station temperature (280-290 K) and the system temperatures (200 K at X, 140 K at S). See Marco Costa's message below. Production processing was begun on July 25 with an AP length of 1 second. It was changed to 5 seconds starting with scan 192-1822. August 10, after production pass: In addition to the scans selected for reprocessing by the usual methods, the following scans with low data yield in the production pass should be reprocessed: 192-1730_1749+096 192-2110_2145+067 192-2301_1044+719 193-0338_1334-127 193-0640_CTA26 193-1046_1300+580 193-1320_1054-388 193-1718_0556+238 After repro pass: Refringed mismatched FRTs at procdate 269-2217. Best data set was selected in aedit using highest SNR as the primary criterion; a few records of higher quality code but lower SNR were then substituted in the case of 2 scans. About one hour before the end of the experiment, Gilcreek's pcal amps gradually started to drop by 10-20%, depending on channel. What we're seeing is almost certainly the initial stage of the failure of the -15v rack power supply, which caused the loss of Gilcreek in C3001 one day later. **************************************************************************** Station Mail: **************************************************************************** From mcosta@kerr.phys.utas.edu.au Sun Jul 9 21:13:57 EDT 2000 Received: from hyperion.MITHAY (hyperion.haystack.edu [192.52.65.1]) by planck.haystack.edu (8.8.6 (PHNE_17135)/8.8.6) with ESMTP id VAA03166; Sun, 9 Jul 2000 21:13:55 -0400 (EDT) Received: from ivscc.gsfc.nasa.gov (ivscc.gsfc.nasa.gov [128.183.107.36]) by hyperion.MITHAY (8.9.3+Sun/8.9.1) with ESMTP id VAA07526; Sun, 9 Jul 2000 21:13:54 -0400 (EDT) Received: from kerr.phys.utas.edu.au (kerr.phys.utas.edu.au [131.217.62.76]) by ivscc.gsfc.nasa.gov (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id VAA06658 for ; Sun, 9 Jul 2000 21:06:17 -0400 (EDT) Received: from localhost (mcosta@localhost) by kerr.phys.utas.edu.au (8.8.5/8.8.3) with ESMTP id LAA19640 for ; Mon, 10 Jul 2000 11:05:36 +1000 (EST) Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 11:05:36 +1000 (EST) From: "marco.costa" X-Sender: mcosta@kerr Reply-To: Marco.Costa@utas.edu.au To: ngs@kerr.phys.utas.edu.au Subject: CORE-1001 In-Reply-To: <200007031832.OAA14233@gemini.gsfc.nasa.gov> Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Status: RO Dear Cindy et al, One of our helium hoses has developed a leak.
